Bartender/Mixologist
Accurately prepare alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for bar and legal patrons. Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks. Assessment of guest needs and preferences and making recommendations.Bartenders mix drinks and serve them directly to customers or through wait staff. Bartenders work at restaurants, bars, clubs, hotels, catered events, festivals, and other food service and drinking establishments. During busy hours, they are under pressure to serve customers quickly and efficiently. Requires pleasant demeanor, strong recipe knowledge and ideally handle high volume. Requires knowledge and adherence to health and safety, safe food handling, proper hygiene, sanitary practices. Ability to handle pressure, good collaboration and problem solving, solid communication.
A mixologist is an individual with a passion for combining elixirs and creating extraordinary cocktails, whereas a bartender is an individual with a passion for making great drinks and creating well-balanced experiences. A mixologist could be considered an alcohol chef, a creator that pushes the limits of what mixed drinks can be, and has a high degree of knowledge around the history of varying spirits, liqueurs fruits, vegetables, and spices to create sensational drink recipes.
